From the Web*:
Story Arc Comics & Collectibles is one of the newer entries on the Twin Cities comic shop scene, having opened in early 2025 in the O’Connell Square mall in Savage. Owner Lee Amrine — a Savage resident whose path to small business ownership was shaped by a deeply personal moment of rediscovering his late father’s carefully preserved comic collection — spent six months planning the store before opening, and that intentionality shows in how it’s put together. Reviewers consistently single out how clean, spacious, and well-organized the space is, which isn’t always a given in this hobby category.
The shop bills itself as having something for everyone, and the inventory backs that up. Beyond the weekly new releases and back issues, you’ll find graphic novels and omnibuses, trading card games (Magic: The Gathering, Lorcana, Pokémon), tabletop RPGs including D&D and Pathfinder, miniatures and paints, board games, action figures, lightsabers, dice sets, and assorted collectibles. It’s less of a traditional comic shop and more of a one-stop destination for anyone who identifies as a gamer or a geek of just about any variety. Owner Lee and his staff have earned consistent praise across reviews for being friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic — multiple reviewers specifically mentioned being greeted warmly when walking in the door, which stands out in a genre of store that doesn’t always prioritize that kind of welcome.
With a 4.9 Google rating and 40+ reviews, it’s a bit early to find much negative feedback — the shop simply hasn’t been open long enough to accumulate the kind of volume that surfaces consistent complaints. Pricing has been called fair across the board, and the selection has grown steadily since opening. Facebook remains the most active social presence, with regular themed posts throughout the week covering new releases, RPGs, graphic novels, and board games. Instagram is up and running at @storyarcmn as well. Story Arc is still in its early chapters, but the foundation looks solid.

Our Take:
Given the proximity to my home, I actually found out about Story Arc before (or right as) they opened–and stopped by to take a picture I think the first week that it opened…but I didn’t stop in–in part because I knew from their Facebook that they were still working on building up inventory (and I’m not sure if they were even actually open when I drove by anyway). And even though I drive by it usually at least once or twice a week, I still haven’t stopped in–mainly because I need to go back into my collection and remember what books I actually need to complete a couple of runs I have holes in (I haven’t collected comics since…6th or 7th grade), in case I actually come across them in any of the comic shops I visit. But I will stop in at some point in the near future.
