Eric Childs took over the comic book store Mind’s Eye Comics in 2018, making the store the first Black-owned comic book seller in the state of Minnesota. Now located in Burnsville, the store was started in 1998 by Andrew Troth, who decided to retire from the comic book business in pursuit of other endeavors. A longtime customer, Childs stepped in to keep the store open, fulfilling his childhood dream of running a comic book shop, and moved the store to Burnsville in 2023.
