Our Take:
Hubmen Sports Cards first popped up on my radar during the late summer/early fall of 2025, and I was dumfounded to find out that Jordan, MN had a sports card shop, given that it’s so close to where I live (Shakopee). I’ve spent plenty of time there over the years, having grown up not too far away, and knew there was a comic shop in town, but how did I miss a card shop? After a couple months, I finally was driving through Jordan with some time to spare, so I stopped in, and met one of the co-owners (Nick…but not the other co-owner, Nick), and chatted for a bit…and I can pretty honestly say of all the card shops I’ve visited in Minnesota, Hubmen Sports Cards is the closest to the shop that I’ve always envisioned in my head if I were to open my own card shop. Small town feel (well…small town, I guess), awesome look & feel to the store, games on the TV, lots of singles, plenty of boxes, other stuff going on in the store, local events…and from what I saw of the prices, certainly not outlandish there either. They’ve done a great job launching their shop, and even though I don’t really collect that much any more, I suspect I’ll be back to see how things continue to get even better.
(Funny side note…at least in my mind…Jordan High School’s mascot is the Hubmen (hence the name), and when I was probably a freshman in high school, we were playing against Jordan’s football team, and I was in the pep band for the night, and one of their players came sliding over by me during warmups, and I looked him and asked “What the hell is a Hubmen?” He basically answered “I don’t know.” Well, they actually have a page dedicated to that on their website.)
